Custom Orthotics

What Are Custom Orthotics?

Unlike over-the-counter insoles, prescription custom orthotics are fabricated from a cast or scan of your foot and designed to address your specific biomechanical needs. They can correct alignment issues, redistribute pressure, reduce pain, and improve function. Our staff coordinates the orthotics process, from evaluation through fitting

Functional Orthotics

Designed to control abnormal motion, functional orthotics are used to treat conditions like plantar fasciitis, shin splints, tendinitis, and over-pronation. They are typically rigid or semi-rigid and fit inside everyday shoes.

Accommodative Orthotics

Softer and more cushioned, accommodative orthotics provide pressure relief for conditions like diabetic foot, calluses, and painful deformities. They are particularly important for patients who cannot tolerate high-pressure areas on their feet.

Sport-Specific Orthotics

Children with flat feet, in-toeing, or gait abnormalities sometimes benefit from custom foot supports to guide proper development. We evaluate carefully to determine if orthotics are appropriate for your child's specific situation.
